Karyogramm

The following two karyogramms are showing the complete complement of the 22 polytene chromosomes of Phaseolus coccineus cv. Preisgewinner after staining with DAPI and with DAPI/PI, respectively. Only representative chromsomes which are expressing well their specific features of the cHC have been choosen. Chromosomes are ordered according to their total length (longest first, shortest last) and they are always oriented with the short arm up. In general the total chromosome length is highly variable and can therefore considerable different from the values indicated. First priority has been attributed to the the features that allows identification, especially the cHC.
